Partnership Supports Women and Youth Through Leadership and Community Development Training

Citizens Voice SL, in collaboration with the Coalition for Community Resilience and Transformation Sierra Leone (CArCRT-SL), organized a Leadership and Community Development Training Programme to strengthen the capacity of women and young people to become active leaders, community advocates, and agents of positive change.

The programme brought together aspiring youth leaders, women, community volunteers, and emerging changemakers for an engaging learning experience focused on leadership excellence, personal development, and community impact. Through interactive workshops, group discussions, practical exercises, and mentorship sessions, participants enhanced their skills in leadership, effective communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, community mobilization, digital literacy, civic engagement, project planning, and social entrepreneurship.

Participants also explored strategies for identifying community challenges, designing local solutions, mobilizing community support, and leading initiatives that promote social inclusion and sustainable development. The training encouraged innovation, collaboration, and responsible leadership while building participants' confidence to engage effectively within their communities.

Special emphasis was placed on empowering women to take on leadership roles and ensuring young people have meaningful opportunities to participate in decision-making processes and community development initiatives. By promoting gender inclusion and youth leadership, the programme contributed to building stronger, more resilient, and inclusive communities.

This partnership reflects the shared commitment of Citizens Voice SL and CArCRT-SL to investing in local leadership, empowering women and youth, promoting inclusive participation, and strengthening community resilience through education, capacity building, and collaborative action across Sierra Leone.
